Getting Started

In many ways, getting started with business research is akin to any other research you may find yourself conducting. One key focus to keep in mind as you begin, is to think creatively about who may have the information you're looking for. It may come from an unlikely source. On this website, you will find some of the most frequented resources for business research, but there are plenty of others you could explore. Other groups you could explore to find reports, statistics, and related content include:

  • Government agencies
  • School districts
  • State organizations
  • Private activist or community support agencies
  • For-profit information brokers (such as NexisUni, Hoovers, etc.)
  • Newspapers

If you're not finding what you're looking for, remember you can always ask a librarian, virtually or in-person.
