Environmental Studies

Environmental studies is the science which studies the interaction between man and the environment, emphasizing the links between different subjects related to this issue, including ecology, economics, geography, geology, meteorology, and politics.

What is Environmental Studies?

For many, a career in Environmental Studies began with reading of Rachel Carson's Silent Spring, published 57 years go in 1962.  The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service celebrated her work on the 50th Anniversary of this publication.  Below is a photo of her with a colleague from her time at the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.
