This guide describes the wide variety of information products available at the Brooks Library on microformat.

What are microforms?

Microforms are any print item that has been photographed and printed at a much smaller scale on either paper or plastic, and can viewed on what is known as a reader.  Brooks Library holds three kinds of microforms:

Microfiche -- transparent sheets of film, usually 4" x 6"

sheet of microfiche

Microfilm -- transparent rolls of film

Microprint (also known as microcard) -- opaque white cards
