Activity Overview & Directions

Help us celebrate 50 years of the James E. Brooks Library building this academic year by leveraging all it has to offer and challenge your library know-how to win prizes, build community, and grow individual capacity.

Details:

Advance your library knowledge through a fun scavenger hunt highlighting resources.
All student, staff, or faculty member are invited to participate.
Scavenger hunt is open throughout the entire 2025-26 Academic Year.
Head to the Service desk on the first floor of the Brooks Library to pick up a physical copy of the scavenger hunt, or use the digital scavenger hunt tool to track your progress.
Grab a buddy to work through scavenger hunt activities together, compete with others in your department or class, or make it a solo activity!

Directions:

Complete activities to uncover library services and resources.
Return to the library service point after completing a round to earn stickers and enter into the raffle for the quarter prize and the grand prize. Each round earns a sticker and a raffle entry.
Make sure to finish a round and enter for the raffles before finals week and raffles are drawn during finals week.

Student Prizes

We are excited to offer quarterly basket prizes that have been generously funded by the Friends of the Brooks Library. Enter into the quarterly raffle for an opportunity to win a baskets.

ROUND 1 - Fall Quarter

Complete activities to enter the raffle by December 7th. Raffle will be drawn during finals week.

Fix your own stuff and get cooking with this basket with the Anvil Homeowner's Tool Set, Safe and Sound: A Renter-Friendly Guide to Home Repair by Mercury Stardust, Good and Cheep by Leanne Brown, and your own salt and pepper grinder.

ROUND 2 - Winter Quarter

Complete activities to enter the raffle by March 15. Raffle will be drawn during finals week.

Get cozy with a copy of the Cascadia game, Lego plant set, a copy of Around the World in Eighty Games by Marcus du Sautoy, and pair of socks for you and your game partner.

ROUND 3 -Spring Quarter

Complete activities to enter the raffle by June 7th. Raffle will be drawn during finals week.

Picnic in style with this basket of a Cotopaxi fanny pack, reusable wheat straw (plastic alternative) cups, electrolytes, a Don't Die Out There desk, and a copy of Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed.

Grand Prize: Read Across Washington

Raffle for the grand prize will be drawn at the end of the year during finals week. You are automatically entered for the grand prize every time you are entered into a quarterly round.

This basket features books by authors of Washington state, CWU gear, and a fanny pack.
