Commodore Perry's Expedition to Japan and the South China Sea is one of the most popular publications in the Serial Set.  The art in this 3 volume publication is exquisite.  Please note, there are House and Senate versions of each volume.

Please note that Commodore Perry's reports cover several volumes.  so the Senate Executive Document has the same title, but a different document number and is also part 1. 769 S.exdoc.79

Volume 2  is 770 S.exdoc.79 entitled Perry's expedition to China Seas and Japan, 1852-1854, vol. 2: Agriculture, natural history, etc. while the House version has the same title and is 803 H.exdoc.97
