Generative AI

Resources and information related to emerging artificial intelligence technologies.

Intro to AI

Artificial Intelligence - the theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages.

Deep Learning - A type of machine learning based on artificial neural networks in which multiple layers of processing are used to extract progressively higher level features from data.

Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) - A type of artificial intelligence system that learns from existing data to generate novel outputs including text, images, audio, code, or video.

Grounding - In AI, grounding a method of improving accuracy of output and reducing hallucinations by anchoring responses to real-time data. While grounding improves results, hallucinations are still possible and verification is still important.

Hallucination (in AI) - Incorrect, misleading, false, or nonsensical results generated by an AI model.

Language Learning Model (LLM) - A machine learning model that aims to predict and generate plausible language by estimating probability.

Machine Learning (ML) - A subfield of artificial intelligence that gives computers the ability to learn without explicitly being programmed.

Neural Network - A computer system modeled on the human brain and nervous system.

Prompt / Prompting - The process of interacting with an artificial intelligence (AI) system by providing specific instructions or queries to achieve a desired outcome.
