Ellensburg is full of eclectic shops and restaurants next to beautiful and historic buildings, most constructed between 1889 and 1917. Weekends bring delicious local food and fresh produce, regional crafts, and eclectic entertainment downtown at the Ellensburg Farmers Market. Ellensburg is also close to the Yakima River Canyon, Cascade Mountains, Mt. Stuart, and nearby state and national forests.
Ellensburg provides free transportation around the city. Central Transit's Fixed Route service is a fare-free, 7 day a week (except holidays) public transit service provided by the City of Ellensburg, with support from Central Washington University.
