This guide is intended to serve as a collection-point for some of the resources used and referenced in LIS 110: Research Fundamentals. It also introduces other resources that may be useful to students interested in improving their research skills.
These databases (which can also be found under A-Z Databases) are good resources for times when you may want a more reliable reference source than Wikipedia. The reference materials they include may be cited, too, unlike Wikipedia pages.
Don't rule out good old-fashioned hardbound dictionaries, handbooks, and encyclopedias if you have access to the physical library. The bulk of the CWU reference collection is located on the first floor of the library in the Academic Research Commons. The Encyclopaedia Britannica is a solid standby:
