Ping Fu is Professor and Head of Library Technology Services in the Brooks Library at Central Washington University (CWU) where he has been a tenured and tenure track (TT/T) faculty member since 2011. Reporting to the Dean of the Libraries, Ping is responsible for the overall administration of the Systems department and the oversight of the other areas of Library Technologies.
Ping received his Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS, 2003) and M.A. in East Asian Studies (2001) from McGill University, Canada. He also received M.A. in Computer Science (1992) from Shanghai University, and B.A in Computer Science (1985) from Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xi’an.
Prior to joining the CWU Library, Ping worked as Systems Librarian at Singapore Management University Library (2009-2011) and Systems Librarian (tenure track) at Yale University Library (2007-2009). His research interests lie in the area of Digital Library (DL), Integrated Library Systems (ILS), Institutional Repository (IR), and Research Data Management Services (RDM).
Ping has published numerous peer-reviewed and non-peer-reviewed journal articles on various topics related his research interests.
