Through the Dept. of Commerce, this site links you to resources to housing, liaisons to schools, health information, reports, and other services. They also collect data on homelessness.
This is the site for state data. Here you can find reports,data, census updates, housing, economic information, poverty, city/county, health care, projections and estimates.
At the census site, use "Topics" to find drop down and Browse for the kind of quick data you wish to use. If you require raw data, then go to the "Data" tab at the top and select the Microdata and download.
