What is a book review?

When thinking of book reviews, think of being the interpreter for the text in opposition to the reporter of the story.

  • A reporter is interested in reporting the facts and summarizing what happened (Book Report).
  • The reviewer gets to have an opinion and interpretation for what happened (Book Review).

The resources below provide excellent advice on writing book reviews.
